London-based producers John Ford and Oren Emanuel formed Lets Be Friends, an electronic music duo active from 2011 to 2015. Ford, an English DJ and producer, later performed as JOYRYDE; Emanuel is an Israeli producer. The pair released music through their own Unwanted Records, with the 2013 EP Lets Be Friends EP 1 among their early releases. That year also brought the single “IOA” on Unwanted Records and the single “Manslaughter”, issued on Unwanted.
In 2014, Lets Be Friends released “FTW” as a Monstercat single; it also appeared on the compilation album Monstercat 016 – Expedition. The duo put out “Only Time” as a single through Circus Records that year. Their work included a remix of Felix Da Housecat, which reached number one on major electronic music download stores, and collaborations with Skrillex on “Tomb Traitor” and “Master Hand”. Ford’s time in Lets Be Friends ended in 2015, as he began performing as JOYRYDE and the duo became inactive.
