Origin Unknown is the English drum and bass duo of Andy C and Ant Miles, who formed the project in 1990 and released music through RAM Records, the label they co-founded. In 1993, they released “The Touch” with “Valley of the Shadows” as its B-side. Andy C recalled that recording “Valley of the Shadows” took around four hours. It became the duo’s best-known track and was issued as a standalone single in 1996, again through RAM Records.
The duo released Speed Of Sound in 1996 and Sound In Motion in 1998. “Truly One,” originally released in 1995, was reissued in 2002 and reached number 53 on the UK Singles Chart and number seven on the UK Dance Singles Chart.
Andy C and Ant Miles also recorded as Concept 2 and Desired State. With producer Shimon, they later formed Ram Trilogy. Their remix work included music by DJ Hype, Dieselboy, Adam F, Adam Freeland and High Contrast. They also recorded “Hotness” with Dynamite MC for his debut album, World of Dynamite.
