PFM began as a UK drum-and-bass duo of Mike Bolton and Jamie Saker, with the name standing for Progressive Future Music. PFM were among the early artists working with spacious, atmospheric drum and bass.
The duo became closely associated with LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking Records. Jamie Saker later left, and Mike Bolton carried on with the project alone.
Early tracks included “Wash Over Me,” “The Western” and “The Western Tune.” PFM also released “For All of Us” and “One and Only.” “Danny’s Song,” a tribute to LTJ Bukem, appeared on the 1996 compilation Logical Progression Level One. PFM were also associated with LTJ Bukem’s Looking Good label.
PFM collaborated with Tayla on “Submarine Tune (Mixes).” The album The Arrival came out in 1999, and PFM released the album Producer 02 in 2002.
