Eric Chow, who performs as Saka, grew up moving between San Francisco and Hong Kong, where he was born. He spent much of his life playing instruments before becoming interested in electronic music at 15. Dubstep was an early draw, with Rustie, Skrillex, Caspa, Skream and Benga among the artists he has named as influences. Chow has also cited Noisia, Eprom, Alix Perez and Moody Good for their impact on his production and musicality. He began making music after a friend encouraged him to try producing. He has recalled being drawn to the UKF scene when he first discovered electronic music. He began producing in 2017 after that encouragement.
Saka’s releases span dubstep, electronic music, halftime and hybrid trap. He has described bringing experimental and left-field electronic music together with bass-heavy styles and broken beats. His releases have appeared on soundslikesaka, UKF, Deadbeats, Memory Palace, Gud Vibrations and Vision Recordings. The EP Slipstream EP arrived in 2020, followed by Anti-Hero EP in 2022 and Asura EP in 2023. His 2019 single “Night's Edge” appeared on messy clean.
In 2022, Saka joined Black Carl! for the collaborative EP Rush Hour, released through Deadbeats. In 2024, he collaborated with Of The Trees on the release “Monomyth”, and worked with Mindset on the single “Fangs”. Saka’s credits also include a 2024 remix of “Intimacy” for Vision.
In 2025, Saka released the EP VERTIGO with FLY. He also joined Of The Trees on the Moonglade tour, an experience he discussed after playing Sound Haven. His later releases include the single “Shaolin (Remixes)” with Integrate and Mindset, issued through Gud Vibrations. In 2026, Saka released the single “styx!” on UKF and “la bolsita!” on soundslikesaka.
