Toronto producer Stephen Walking performs under the name Michael Arthur Toope. Before joining Monstercat, Toope made dubstep remixes of video-game music, including a version of Pokémon’s “Lavender Town”. His first Monstercat release was the 2011 track Still Walking; that year also brought the single Christian The Lion. He has released music through Monstercat, including the tracks Glide and Turtle Town. His releases also include the four-track EP Seven Sages.
Walking has worked with Ephixa on the track Matches and the 2019 single Problems. He has also released music as one half of Orbiter. Monstercat released his 2020 single Odin’s Ghost, while You Gave a Lot and Now You Want It Back and Then Some came out as a single on Us and the Aliens that year. In 2021, he joined Sangatsu no Phantasia on the single 101 (Stephen Walking Remix) - SACRA BEATS Singles. His 2022 single Why Can't We Be Friends? (Saxsquatch & Stephen Walking Remix) paired him with Saxsquatch and War; in 2025, he released the single Nightmare Ninja with Hige Driver on CHOMPO.
