From Washington, D.C., Telemetrik was an early production alias of producer Marcio Alvarado, who later released music as Alvin Risk. Under the Telemetrik name, Alvarado helped form the drum-and-bass duo Corrupt Souls with producer Impulse, whose name is Josh Clark. The duo was active from 2004 to 2007, and its releases appeared on Ohm Resistance, Renegade Hardware, Moving Shadow and Black Sun Empire’s label. Alvarado’s work as Telemetrik connected his solo production to the duo’s output, with Black Sun Empire among the labels associated with both.
In 2008, Telemetrik released the album My Lightyear on Black Sun Empire. Its track selection includes “Cosmos” and “Rouge City”, the latter also appearing among Telemetrik’s tracks in a Black Sun Empire podcast tracklist. “Exit Civilization” and “Space Coke” were included there as well. Telemetrik also released “Magnet” with Black Sun Empire on the label.
