Thrasher

Gareth de Wijk began playing in bands at 14, with punk and hardcore shaping his musical roots. After years in bands and touring internationally, he moved towards heavy electronic music and began DJing as Thrasher. His background also includes playing guitar in The Hard Way, a project connected to punk and hardcore. He started DJing under the Thrasher name after organizing his first party, having decided Rotterdam’s drum-and-bass nights could be harder and darker.

De Wijk founded PRSPCT Recordings, a Rotterdam-based label, and built his DJ approach around pushing drum & bass towards a harder, darker sound, mixing it with hardcore. He runs PRSPCT and performs at festivals and drum & bass and hardcore parties across Europe. Thrasher collaborated with Limewax on “PRSPCT Wrecking Crew Anthem.” PRSPCT also operates as an event brand. Thrasher is a DJ and producer, and De Wijk has performed in bands including The Dead Cvlt and TDC INC.
