Tommy Villiers studied popular music at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he joined See Thru Hands and co-founded Porij. A singer-songwriter, producer, guitarist and trumpeter, he also plays DJ sets. Villiers released one EP with See Thru Hands and two with Porij, before forming a duo with singer Piri in 2020.
Born Thomas George Villiers, he is from Saffron Walden and is based in London. His solo release “Change a Thing” came out in 2019. He has been associated with EMI and Tim & Danny Music, as well as Polydor, the label that released the duo’s mixtape.
Villiers met Piri through Instagram, and they began making music together during lockdown. He has said he had been making beats in his spare time since around the age of 17, often preparing a beat for Piri to write over. The pair drew on disco, house, drum and bass and speed garage. Their 2021 single “Soft Spot” became a breakout hit, followed by the singles “Beachin” and “On & On”. In 2022, they released the mixtape Froge.mp3 on Polydor.
Piri and Villiers later released the EP About Dancing, in 2024. Their shared work has also included the singles “Feel It,” “Updown” and “Nice 2 Me”; “Feel It” features MJ Cole and came out on 892 Recordings in 2023. Villiers’s solo and collaborative credits include the track “To the Moon” with Mustbejohn and a remix of LF System’s “Afraid to Feel”. His credits span production, songwriting and guitar, alongside his work as a DJ and multi-instrumentalist. He also remixed “Know Better” for India Shan and Jake Elliott. In 2025, his credits included a remix of Mackwood’s “Thunder” and the single “Heavy Handed” with Piri.
