ZEKE BEATS, whose real name is ZEKE Ugle, began learning to DJ at 13 in Perth, developing skills in turntablism and competitive scratching before moving into production. A studio session with EPROM prompted that shift. His bass music draws on hip-hop and grime influences, and he has described it as visceral bass.
ZEKE BEATS released the EP Meltdown E.P. in 2016, an early breakthrough in his production career. For a track on it, he and Avance began working together in a Sydney studio and completed it remotely. In 2024, ZEKE BEATS, Jantsen and Virus Syndicate released the EP FUTURA. The EP OUT THE DIRT followed in 2026, alongside the single BACK ON with Sephros on Kannibalen Records. ZEKE BEATS has also released music on Wakaan, Subsidia, Buygore and Terrorhythm, and released the 2025 EP HIT IT.
His EP Bad Robot came out on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats imprint. Artists supporting ZEKE BEATS include Zeds Dead, Liquid Stranger, Subtronics, Excision, Rezz and Peekaboo. In 2019, he collaborated with The Glitch Mob on the single “Lazer Vision.” In 2024, he also released “Angel Above” with Barclay Crenshaw.
