SINFUL MAZE
Label
Johannes aka @EtheraDNB hasn’t even been writing music for five years, but his trajectory is already gaining serious momentum. Originally from Bavaria, now based in Berlin and newly part of the Fraktvred collective pushing DnB events in the city, Ethera steps forward with a debut that we’re genuinely proud to host on SINFUL MAZE - “Escalation EP”.
“Perception” opens the EP as a track loaded with tension and screaming synths, cut by pauses that feel like they’re about to give you a heart attack. “Authority” flips the script into total orchestral swing chaos, bursting with breaks - playful, broken apart and kicked around like a wild animal. “Pressure Index” is strict Berlin techno‑vibe drum & bass: rigid, driving, with beautiful stabs that somehow manage to stroke your stomach while the rhythm keeps drilling forward. “Competition” closes the record as a repetitive acid sting that rolls relentlessly through the whole track, channeling a vibe that nods back to the old, glorious era of Neosignal.
Escalation EP is Ethera’s reflection on what it means to be a producer today - how a newcomer on the scene perceives the musical world around him and his own role within it. In the end, it’s more of a description than a declaration: the real statement is in the tracks themselves. He watches, he drifts through, and he does his own thing. This is the sinful way.
