In recent years, Graz has emerged as one of the most exciting breeding grounds for young producers in electronic music, alongside cities like Innsbruck, home to Dapreme, and Bavaria, where Ethera and Dave from phasebound are based. Just like Benedict from phasebound, who has already released on SINFUL MAZE, Michael aka @MOEKELmusic also comes from Graz - and from this vibrant scene comes his four-track “Forbidden EP”. His arrival on the label is no coincidence, but a natural continuation of a story about a scene that concentrates talent, courage, and a distinctive sound in one place.
Forbidden EP is a sonic journey through the cycle of day and night - from the warm, sun-drenched opening of “Sun Dips Low”, through the uncompromising “All Night” and introspective “On My Own”, to the title track “Forbidden Voices”, which closes the EP like a statement. These tracks are not built on calculated hooks or trend-chasing formulas; they are personal diary entries pulsing with bass and synths. Each track tells its own story - about moments when time stands still, about nights that refuse to end, about solitude that paradoxically brings freedom, and about voices we only hear when we dare to stop listening to what others expect from us.
What Moekel does is “forbidden” in today’s world - because it does not aspire to success by someone else’s metrics, but expresses exactly what he truly feels. It is music free from the matrix of playlists, algorithms, and numbers, music that doesn’t try to be everywhere, but insists on being honest.
