@SCURROWdubz is a familiar name on SINFUL MAZE - a Dresden‑based architect of deep, dark drum & bass, whose releases have been steadily pulling our catalogue into heavier territory. With “Ouroboros EP”, his debut EP on the label, he delivers the most intense and fully realised work he has ever signed with us.
“Autark” is an absolute dancefloor pressure cooker, driven by urgency - the moment just before the pressure valve explodes, riding an atypical 4x4 pulse that refuses to let you breathe. “Cage Of My Mind” dives even deeper: the hardest track he has ever written, with sound design on a near‑celestial level. Stoptime gives you a brief illusion of relief, only for the second drop to finish the job and leave nothing standing.
“Slice Of Life”, featuring Bomsh on vocals - whom listeners already know from his collaboration with German duo O&P on our catalogue - is a pure UK deep stinker, full of knotted basslines that wrap around you, binding tight while somehow trying to free you in the same breath. “Elusive”, a collaboration with Ethera, closes the EP as a hybrid of melancholy and soulful good‑vibe energy, symbolising one thing: light at the end of the tunnel, hope, a forward gaze and acceptance.
Ouroboros EP is a loop of self‑consumption and renewal: four tracks that chew through anxiety, anger and doubt, only to spit out clarity in the final moments. It doesn’t need a manifesto - the story is already etched into the drums, bass and silence between them. This is Scurrow caught in the cycle, turning darkness into motion and finally breaking out of the cycle.
