Agzilla – Metalheadz –

AGZILLA is a DJ and producer who helped shape the early days of the underground rave scene in Reykjavík, Iceland. He began his career in 1989 with hip-hop and breakbeats, before turning his attention to drum and bass under the influence of the UK’s Shut Up and Dance Records. An encounter with Goldie led him to experience the legendary London party ‘RAGE at Heaven’, an experience that would define his musical direction. He was also involved in the scene surrounding Metalheadz and released his early works on Reinforced Records. He has performed alongside artists such as Björk, The Prodigy and Aphex Twin, and continues to promote underground bass music whilst based in Iceland, travelling across the UK and the US. In 2019, he released the album *Cats Can Hear Ultrasound* on Metalheadz. The album has garnered high praise as a work that encapsulates the sensibilities of breakbeats, drum & bass and leftfield music cultivated over many years. “The 2019 release *Cats Can Hear Ultrasound*, released on Metalheadz, remains a hidden gem that continues to garner a cult following.”
