CIRCUSOSAKA

CIRCUSOSAKA is based in Osaka, where its Amerikamura venue began operating in June 2012. Event planner Saki Yoshida joined around 2013 and started organizing hip-hop nights in her second year. The venue first concentrated on drum and bass and techno, later adding recurring Hip Hop Circus events. Event line-ups have featured Makoto, Azumai and Sarina Tokihira, as well as SAMO (JP) and Fumiya Tanaka.

Events have been held at Circus Tokyo, Circus Osaka, Namura Zosenjo Atochi / Creative Center Osaka and Kyoto Fuminnomori Hiyoshi. Recurring nights include Circus Loves Drum&Bass and CHAOS, which features techno and house. In 2016, the Osaka venue fitted a VOID Acoustics sound system, the first installation of its kind in Kansai. It is on the second floor of the Nakanishi Building at 1-8-16 Nishi-Shinsaibashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka. International performers regularly appeared, often supported by Japanese artists, while the venue had relatively few regular or resident DJ arrangements.
