“Festival connecting people of various cultures, ethnicities and races.”
Uprising became inseparable part of summer for Slovakia and neighbouring countries. Since its founding in 2008, Uprising grew into the biggest reggae festival in a region, one of Top 40 European festivals and his international fanbase is steadily growing every year.
Despite of being called reggae festival, Uprising is far from being monothematic. During two days, number of genres ranging from reggae, dancehall, ska, latino or hiphop to dub, dubstep, ragga-jungle & dnb is presented on four main stages and number of smaller ones. And it’s not only about music. It’s a lifestyle and there is a plethora of various leisure activities and nonmusical program. Sport turnaments, dancehall and capoeira workshop, yoga & sound healing sessions or discussions, stand-ups, short movies and creative workshops. Outdoor street art exhibitions and exotic cuisine will please your eyes and stomachs. One of the biggest advantages of Zlaté piesky location is natural lake with its offer of boat and water bikes rental and wakeboarding tow.
Organisers think of the youngest fans too. Therefore, parents and families will find special Kid’s Zone with special programming and activities for children in the festival area.
Uprising Festival is commemorating important historic event, Slovak National Uprising, with its name and a date.
