Ascendant Grooves was part of the Good Looking Records family and released atmospheric drum and bass. In 1997, MC Conrad and PHD issued “Reminiscent Rhythms / Presence” on the label, followed in 1999 by Aural Imbalance’s “Proximity Alert / Astral Forest.” On December 6, 1999, Ascendant Grooves released Ascendant Moods, a two-CD compilation. It brought together tracks by several artists, including PHD, Future Engineers, Aural Imbalance, Funky Technicians and TQ One. Alongside the compilation, the label put out ten numbered singles. Its releases also included work by Blu Mar Ten.
