Counterpoint Recordings is an independent drum and bass label from Porto, Portugal. It grew out of the Counterpoint collective, which has worked in artist management, event production and releases since 2013, and its music reaches into breakbeat and other bass music above 160 BPM.
In 2016 it started the COUNTER x CULTURE series, whose first volume, released on 25 January, brought together artists from Portugal and the United States. Creatures, Jestah and Zound’s “Gemini” came out in 2020, and Section’s “Contagion / Design” followed on 11 January 2021 as the 24th release in its main series. Humanature, QZB, Bassment PT, Masterfield and PIX.L have also released music on Counterpoint.
