Dance Concept is a London drum and bass brand that started out putting on parties in 1999 and launched its record label in 2003 under Benny V. Its first major release was Stevie Hyper D’s album The Legend, which received airplay on KISS FM and BBC Radio One. “Buffalo Soldier” was nominated for DNBA Tune of the Year in 2004. Singles and EPs featured Benny V and Dfrnt Lvls, alongside work by Modified Motion and Sub Zero. Its roster features Aphrodite and Kenny Ken, as well as Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner.
Dance Concept held label tours in 2008 and 2009, including events at The Rhythm Factory in London’s East End. In 2012, it held Generation Hyper, a tribute event for Stevie Hyper D that sold out. Harry Shotta, Nicky Blackmarket and Nvrsoft have released music on the label. Exile and Nicky Blackmarket released the single “Major Clangers” in 2024, followed by Nvrsoft’s “Inmost Cave” in 2025.
