Karnage Records was founded in Toulouse in 1998 by DJ Thanos. It grew out of Fraktal, a sound system that Thanos, Matt and Maniak started in south-west France in 1994, which was part of the free-party scene and worked with Praxis and Stormcore. The label releases hardcore, industrial and other harder electronic music on vinyl and digitally, with crossbreed and neurofunk on the drum and bass side.
Radium, Mouse, The Clamps and Splinter Cell are among its artists. The Clamps released “Tha Real Enemy” on Karnage in 2013 and “Twisting Your Lies (Life)” in 2022, and in 2016 the label issued “Pluton / Impaled” by Triamer and Nagato vs Switch Technique.
In 2005 Karnage started the Koalition Festival in Toulouse, which from 2011 ran over two evenings with eight stages and more than 80 performers. In 2011 it also set up Kosen Production as a separate label focused mainly on drum and bass and neurofunk; The Clamps supplied its first release in 2012.
