MONTA Records began in 2021, launched by electronic duo Boombox Cartel. Italian producer Gentis supplied its debut, “Underground,” and Long Beach producer RemK made the second release, “Lowrider.” MONTA calls itself a multi-genre audio network, with releases spanning trap and drum and bass alongside house and dubstep.
Gino, Holly, CLB, Interupt and Varien have all released on the label. In 2023 CLB and Sara Sukkha released the single “Running Back To You,” and in 2024 Boombox Cartel put out Proof of Life. MONTA issued the compilation MONTA [COMP2] (MON099) on 20 December 2024, and Gino’s 2025 single paired “Who They Are” with “Wormbait.”
