Music Squad is a record label and collective of bass-music artists whose members first connected through the NeuroHopForum and kept in touch after it closed in 2015. The label began in April 2018, with drum and bass as its main focus, although members also made music in other styles and lived in countries including Australia, Canada, Austria and Sweden. It gives its home as Silver Spring, Maryland. Members submit tracks and vote to choose music for the label’s various-artists releases.
The first three numbered releases came out in April and November 2018, then June 2019; the third EP ranged beyond drum and bass tempos. Later releases included Euph’s Chatter / Avoidance in September 2019 and DMR’s Fracture EP in February 2020. Wingz released Distress / Resistance in April 2020 and Nothing Lasts in 2022. Grey Code, Waeys and Corrupted are among the artists whose music has appeared on Music Squad.
