Neodigital Recordings began in 2011 as a digital-only sister label to Hamburg-based drum and bass label Neosignal, founded by producers Phace and Misanthrop. Its releases covered Minimal and Neurofunk, and the imprint also provided a platform for new artists and a creative outlet for its founders. Among its early releases were “Teufelswerk / Hammerfaust” by Phace and Misanthrop, released on September 9, 2011 as NDGTL002, and Emperor’s “The Fire / Smokescreen,” issued in 2012; Mefjus also released “Far Too Close / Distantia” on the label.
Later releases included the four-track “Ruff Scuff” EP by Proxima in 2016 and Posij’s “Attention” in 2017. Phace and Pilotpriest’s “Bodydouble (Phace Remix)” came out in 2011, while the label team curated the 2016 compilation “Eurofunk Volume 2”. Neodigital stopped operating in 2018 and was replaced by NËU, a Hamburg drum and bass imprint associated with Neosignal; earlier releases remained part of the Neosignal family.
