Nurtured Beatz is a London drum and bass label, set up in March 2013 by DJs and producers Spindall and Kalm, who own and run it. Its output centres on experimental drum and bass and newer stylistic directions, alongside jungle, with releases issued on vinyl. Genotype’s The Good Turned Ugly EP was the label’s debut in 2013; Genotype later released Slapdown / Mad Circle there in 2018. The label’s first solo album was Genotype’s No Remorse, released in 2016.
Releases by M-Zine, Scepticz and Overlook, as well as Genotype and Mystic State, have appeared on Nurtured Beatz. Mystic State had put out singles for the label by June 2014 and was then working on an EP. In 2015, Yung-E’s Cosmic Dust / Mindset was released by the label. Nurtured Beatz also operates regular radio shows and stages recurring events featuring its artists, including events run with In-Reach.
