Scientia was introduced by J-Science in 2012 as a record label focused mainly on drum and bass and 140-BPM music, while also accepting releases beyond fixed genre boundaries. Its early artists included Kolectiv, Gerra & Stone, Tim Subterra and Shibumi. Kolectiv’s Carbon EP was lined up as the label’s first release in June 2012. Scientia chose artists for their music rather than their reputation or connections. Ed:it and Voltage have both released music on the label, including Ed:it’s 2015 single Lost (Ed:it Remix).
