Serotone Recordings began in 2013 as the label arm of a drum-and-bass event brand that started in Brighton. DJs and promoters Rivalize and Brown B joined forces in 2011 and own and run the Serotone operation, which combines event promotion with record releases across several styles of drum and bass.
Its releases include tech and jump-up drum and bass tracks and remixes. It has issued music by both established and emerging artists, including Melinki, Philth and Maniatics. Maniatics’ single “Criminal” arrived in 2016, followed by “Only The Beginning”, a 2018 collaboration between Melinki, Philth and Verva. Skuff’s “Promised Land” followed in 2021; other releases include Skuff’s Retold Stories, Matiflow’s Broken Filter LP and Deep Notion’s No Mercy.
Music from Serotone Recordings has received international BBC Radio 1 plays from Friction and June Miller. The label also brought Slovak producer and DJ Seath onto its roster in 2019.
