Melinki, the DJ and producer name of Sonny Symes, is from Hastings on England’s south coast and is based there. He established Four Corners Music in 2017 and runs the label alongside his production work. His releases have appeared on Fokuz Recordings, Dispatch and Technique, as well as his own imprint, and he has also released music through V Recordings, Shogun and Liquicity. He has won DJ competitions associated with Hospitality, Dillinja’s Valve Recordings and Drum and Bass Arena, and has performed on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
His EP The S.T.L Project grew from work at his community studio in Hastings and included collaborations with artists connected to the space, including Philth, HLZ and Deefa. Melinki owns and manages S.T.L Studios, where he teaches DJing and music production and hosts masterclasses. He has said that he chooses releases for Four Corners Music according to whether he enjoys the music and would play it in his own DJ sets. His 2021 EP was Phantom Shadows Ep.
In 2024, Melinki discussed The Radical Sounds EP, a four-track release for V Recordings made with pyxis, Motiv, Collette Warren and T.R.A.C. He also collaborated with Riya on the single Only Way We Knew, released through V Recordings in 2025. That year, he issued Real Love (Melinki Remix) on Four Corners. His work with Fokuz Recordings has included releases with Low:r, Qua Rush and Macca; the three artists also joined him on the 2026 EP Harrow Dub EP.
In 2026, Melinki released the single Safari / WD40 with Interlock and Sklart Mafia through Yamatai Records, and Galactic Home (Melinki Remix) on Empathy Audio.
