London-based drum and bass producer Pyxis, whose real name is Marisa Jade Gray, began releasing her own music in 2019 after more than 20 years working behind the scenes in the scene. Her debut came out that December on Goldfat Records, the label run by Mitekiss and Mr. Porter. Her sound draws on liquid drum and bass, old-school influences, 1990s swing and cinematic elements.
Pyxis founded Beats In Mind to release the Headsbass series, which raises funds and awareness for mental-health charities through drum and bass. Away from production, Gray co-runs S2K Music with business partner Laura; the company has signed more than 1,200 artists. In 2024, Pyxis and Malaky released the album Nimbus on Galacy Records, which includes her track “Partly Me”. She also released “Topaz” on Vandal Records’ Modern Soul LP 9. Her EP Point of Light, made with Alpha Rhythm and Maykors, came out on Fokuz Recordings in 2026.
