Michael Gorman, the Pittsburgh-based producer and DJ behind Alpha Rhythm, emerged on the international drum-and-bass scene in 2021. A 2020 single, From The Ashes, came out on Influenza Media. His releases have also appeared on Hospital Records, Fokuz Recordings, Spearhead Records, Liquicity, Four Corners Music and Goldfat Records.
Alpha Rhythm’s sound has been associated with melodic, soulful liquid drum and bass, combining melodic depth with driving energy. His music has received support from UKF, London Elektricity, BCee and LTJ Bukem. Releases include the Fokuz Recordings EPs Subwoofer Lullaby and The Lost River, as well as the 2024 album The Planets. Collaborations include the track “No Time” with Pyxis and T.R.A.C., released by Spearhead Records, and “The Maker” with Villem on Hospital Records.
Alpha Rhythm has also released music with Natus and Maykors, including the EP Point of Light on Fokuz Recordings. In 2025, Alpha Rhythm and Marble Elephant released the single By My Side / Tell Me on Goldfat Records, followed by the single Silent Dawn on Galacy Records. In 2026, releases included the single Roots Vol 3 (Part 3) with Metalix (UK), Natus, Skulder & Mully on Four Corners, and Falling (Alpha Rhythm Remix) with Akuratyde on Modern Conveniences. Alpha Rhythm hosts the Alpha Rhythm & Friends podcast, which covers drum and bass, production and artists’ personal lives.
