California-based drum-and-bass producer Dan Eshleman makes music as Akuratyde, a project rooted in the West Coast electronic scene. His sound draws on drum and bass, jungle, synth pop, electronica and ambient music, with melodic hooks, reverb-soaked synthesizers and dreamy guitar riffs among its elements. Akuratyde’s approach has also been associated with the melodic, emotive side of autonomic drum and bass. Eshleman founded Modern Conveniences to support melodic music in the 170-BPM scene, and releases music through the label as well as through other imprints.
Past Lives, released in 2018 on Blu Mar Ten Music, was Akuratyde’s first album. The connection with Blu Mar Ten Music also brought his music to a label associated with his early work. In 2021, he released the album Home Movies. His releases have also appeared on Fokuz, alongside those on Blu Mar Ten Music and Modern Conveniences. The album An Ocean Apart followed in 2023, adding another full-length release to a run that spans several labels and years.
Collaborations have included work with Synkro on an ambient album, as well as an exchange of remixes between the two producers. Akuratyde also worked with Mister Shifter on the track “Dream Architecture”, released through Modern Conveniences. With Oktae, he released the 2020 single “House On Fire EP” and the 2021 single “We Breathe EP”, both on Fokuz Recordings. The pair later joined again for the 2024 single “Like A Dream”, issued on Modern Conveniences.
The album Head First arrived in 2024, followed by the 2025 album Inviting Chaos. That year also brought the single “Never Come Through (Silence Groove Remix) / Fading Lights”, a collaboration with Silence Groove released on Fokuz Recordings. In 2026, Akuratyde released “Head First (Bop Remix)” with BOP and “Falling (Alpha Rhythm Remix)” with Alpha Rhythm, both singles on Modern Conveniences.
