Zoltar was established in the UK in 2011 by Need For Mirrors producer Joe Moses as a drum and bass label and an outlet for his music. He set it up to issue his work more regularly, to support vinyl releases and to present sleeve artwork. The label puts out drum and bass across several subgenres, with artists from around the world on its roster.
Its early vinyl records came in specially designed sleeves, and the 2011 release pairing Zercon and Smack was limited to 400 copies. In 2012 Zoltar issued Interzone / Fabric (Part 1). HLZ’s Blow Fish followed in 2014, while Need For Mirrors released Fear Grip on the label in 2024. The label also holds regular events and showcases.
