Loud news from the world of drum and bass music!!!
Rob Swire, leader of the Australian-British group, announced his departure from the group after 10 years of working together. He explained his decision by saying that he wanted to focus on his solo projects. Fans learned the news through Twitter, where Rob Swire updated his account description with the words: “There will be no more Pendulum live performances. There are no plans for an album in 2013 either.”
At the moment, Swire is fully focused on his new project, Knife Party, which he founded together with another group member, Gareth McGrillen. Rob Swire was the group’s main writer and composer. Nevertheless, the musician said that his new group is currently his top priority, simply because he has more fun with them.
In an interview with the Australian radio station “Triple J,” Rob explained: “Things are going so well with Knife Party that I don’t want to go back to kindergarten anymore. We’re all having a lot of fun working on this project. It’s also great because, toward the end, we were working on Pendulum with the feeling that we owed someone something, and that’s not the best way to make music.”
“And with Knife Party, we only do what we want, and if nobody likes it, we don’t care,” he added.
