Two years after the release of “Desire Paths”, recognized by our community as the best album of 2014 and named by Mixmag as one of the best drum and bass albums in many years, the hugely talented duo Technimatic are releasing its long-awaited logical continuation, the result of an interesting search for new possibilities.
“Working on the album was a lesson in the endless possibilities that can be drawn from familiar elements, and in how structure and form can stimulate new ideas and directions. We started it without knowing exactly what we would find, and it gave us a new love for what we do. We hope you enjoy it,” the duo say.
The album is called “Better Perspective” and continues the concept of the first long-player, deeply blending melancholy and drive into the highly recognizable, wonderfully cozy atmosphere for which we love Peter and Andy’s work so much. The release will arrive on Shogun Audio, headed by DJ Friction. Zara Kershaw, Maiday and many others lend their vocals to the album. Naturally, the delicate voice of Lucy Kitchen, already traditionally associated with the duo’s work, could not be left out this time either.
The duo describe the album’s concept and the choice of title as follows:
“Some people find them while travelling abroad: a chance to escape everyday life, with all its pressures and compromises, for a while; an opportunity to be someone else, somewhere else. Some find them on a night-time drive, speeding away from home, following a solitary course into the darkness. We find them, and always will find them, in music: freedom, restoration and, finally, a better perspective.”
You will be able to find your perspective as soon as 15 July. But those who want to be among the first can already place a pre-order on the label’s website.
We can’t wait!
