Byrd Out

Byrd Out, based in London, began in 2016 as an event-promotion project founded by Stephen Vitkovitch and friends, spun off from Janus Sounds. Mad Professor was its first booking, with Lee “Scratch” Perry among its early bookings. The promoter held events in Walthamstow and East London, including at Ravenswood Industrial Estate, and at Deya Brewery in Wales. Its events at Ravenswood included an annual fundraiser for the Eat or Heat food bank.

Its creative and booking work includes arranging music for brand projects and events, alongside work with Dalston’s Soda and Deya Brewery. Its bookings have included Goldie and Horse Meat Disco. The events also led to a record label, which later became the main focus. The label has released music by Mad Professor, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Andrew Weatherall and KMRU.
