Grooves

Based in London, Grooves runs drum and bass and jungle events built around DJ sets. DJs can perform using vinyl, Traktor or Serato, and the nights are turntable-only. The promoters created the events to foreground DJ skills, booking lesser-known selectors for their work at the decks rather than their discographies, and to offer emerging DJs a platform.

Events have taken place at Cu in Dalston and Four Quarters in London. One Cu event used a 30Hz sound system. Past bills have featured ETHICS, Merlin, MC Toast and Sicknote. Grooves also releases DJ promotional mixes and recordings from live sets, including a Merlin mix.
