Summer. The traditional time for отдыха on azure (and not only azure) shores, at dachas, and in other open spaces. It would seem that anyone who happened to be in the city at this time could not count on interesting events and big names. However, this summer everything changed.
Ray Keith came to our city for the second time. Of course, not many people heard his first DJ set at Friday club. That was quite a long time ago by today’s standards. So I would not bring up the historical facts again or delve into the annals of history. So. Another event from Formation Records. Date — 7 August. Venue — ТЮЗ. Start time — 23:

The performance by the party’s headliner turned out to be unexpectedly long. An almost three-hour DJ set with an even, well-thought-out programme capable of getting an absolutely "dead" dancefloor moving. A large number of old hits, quality DJing, and other attributes of the English scene that had been appearing in Saint Petersburg increasingly often over the previous six months to a year. And presiding over it all was a serious and confident Ray, putting one record on after another. I think those who had been waiting for his arrival simply could not have wished for anything more. Everything was up to standard.
And what about our own? Took, who played immediately before the English star, continues to impress with the quality of his material and his performances in general. Unfortunately, because of the delay in opening the main arena, it was not possible to fully assess Lisa Kay’s DJ set. However, what I heard, I liked very much. MC V’s dedication and courage were astonishing. When I saw him backstage on crutches, my disappointment knew no bounds. What a shame, I thought — an event like this simply could not go ahead without an MC! So imagine my surprise when I discovered that V was determined to go onstage (naturally, without the crutches by then). What a champion! Paul B, who just three days later presented his new Nuborn mix to the public, was, as always, inimitable. Honour and praise to him. And finally, DEVIL, without false modesty, a favourite of the Saint Petersburg crowd. A good, precise DJ set. Tech Itch is with us again. Naturally, a good party consists of more than just good DJs. Excellent sound and quality lighting work left no questions: the organisers know how to put on a good rave. Is this what you wanted? This is what you got. The interesting but controversial idea of foam, which was released several times during the night from a special cannon onto the dancefloor, was an obvious piece of promoter know-how. Of course, the promised interactive game introduced some confusion. This idea was implemented in Saint Petersburg for the first time, and I think many people were clearly not ready for it. Well then, we will wait for the next time. The ventilation problems and the terrible bars, where one had to queue for 30 minutes for warm beer, can be listed among the clear negatives. I hope this will be taken into account next time.
