The release from last year that really impressed me was / (High Contrast remix) Influx Datum on . The A-side is a powerful track. Confident and forceful, with a beautiful atmosphere, pleasant vocals, and good percussion. Very, very musical—a rather strange characteristic for music, as it were. The remix on the B-side of an equally excellent track by High Contrast is interesting too. It is very unusual for a remix: it turned out to be a mixture of the original, samples from well-known disco tracks, and yet To turn an almost entirely new track into a remix—few are capable of that. An atmospheric song has become disco fun. An example of the wonders you can create with a heap of samples.
