One of the main, in my opinion,of 2003 —from. The promising tracklist more than lived up to expectations. Although by no means all of the material appeared here for the first time, and some of the tracks had already been released, it is difficult even to express the overall impression — there are no words for how enjoyable this compilation is to listen to!

Two discs and 25with a Latin American flavor, all—apart from a few exceptions—chosen as if with a fine eye. A good half of them were written by Brazilian musicians, and alongside the familiarMarky, XRS andPatife there are also some lesser-known names — for example, the excellent trackbyKoloral closes the first CD, while even stronger songs with beautiful vocal parts,Mierda Hedionda andby Cleveland Watkinssopen and close the second one. EvenNicola Conte with, whileDave Angel continued his experiments with drum and bass on the track.

A pleasant surprise wasby Danny C— the instrumental version heard earlier had made little impression, but the full-length version with vocal inserts, a simple yet pleasant melody, and crisp, punchy drums is a real time bomb waiting to go off. In their usual style,Sonic —and Rollers — , but the former came off much brighter. The relative newcomers Artificial Intelligence and Supply & Demand worked well. Nor was there any shortage of “heavy artillery” — recent hitsJohn B,Suv & Tali and, of course,byMarky & XRS.

In short, a triumph of liquid funk, the “Brazilian system,” the disco/house wave of drum and bass, and bossa nova on a double album assembled by well-known connoisseurs of the fieldPatife andSuv. And, interestingly, one that does not pale beside the large-caliber compilations released in the same year and in the same “weight class”
