Commune

Commune is a creative bar on Constance Street in Liverpool’s Fabric District, beside an old printing warehouse. It occupies the former premises of Melodic Distraction; three people established the venue after space next door to their existing bar became available. It was operating as a grassroots music and community venue by July 2024, following its creation around shared interests in live music, arts and community engagement.

The venue has a small conservatory and courtyard, with stated capacity for 90 people across its indoor and outdoor areas. Its sound system comprises a digital mixing desk, subwoofer, two main speakers and two monitors, maintained by Intrinsic Sound. The programme spans live music, DJ sets, vinyl events, films, exhibitions and workshops, alongside space for local creative projects. Charlie Power, CLARA (UK), Norty and Cypher are among the artists who have played there. The entrance is at ground level, public areas are wheelchair-accessible, and the venue has an accessible toilet.
