Volks

Volks is an underground club on Brighton seafront, at 3 Madeira Drive. It started as a late-night salsa venue before Lunarcy, a jungle night, helped shift its programme towards rave. Live bands have played there since at least 2008, and the venue has also hosted acts during The Great Escape festival.

The club has two rooms and a capacity of about 300; its basement holds 60, with a separate bar and sound system. The main room has used Sinai Soundsystem, while the basement has had an RC1 system. Drum and bass, psy-trance and techno feature in its club programme, with nights run by promoters including Overview Music, SuperCharged Events, Delirium Sessions and EOC. Other events have covered mod, cabaret, Black Rave Culture and LGBTQ+-focused programming. Artists to have played there include Goldie, Congo Natty, Serum and Sherelle. Other performers at Volks have included MYNX and Ed Solo.
