Ilpo Kärkkäinen (Ilpo Kärkkäinen) – a DJ and producer from Tampere, Finland. Ilpo is known as Resound, Krii, and is also one half of the duo Causes and Forces. Resound has been involved with music from an early age, progressing from destroying his mother’s teapots and other kitchen utensils as a child to shaping his own sound at the forefront of the electronic scene.
It was a long journey from playing various Finnish folk instruments to joining a hardcore punk band in the 1980s and taking up DJing in the 1990s. In 1995, he began experimenting with electronic music production; Resound lived, ate and breathed it. A futuristic sound, deep bass and complex drum patterns characterise his style. Innovation and versatility are the key words, and the only way for Resound to make things more interesting. He conveys everything he feels to the listener.
Ilpo is a true workaholic and often takes on the role of producer or sound engineer, helping many musicians. He has extensive experience creating music and sound for films, short films, animation, radio and television programmes, DVDs, jingles and multimedia, as well as recording and mixing in the studio.
After studying music, sound technology and media for four years and earning a bachelor’s degree in management, Ilpo is now focusing on music production and DJing. He is always busy in the studio; besides producing his own material, Ilpo makes remixes for ASC, Dephazz, Blaktroniks, Bergheim 34 and many others. In turn, his tracks have been remixed by many musicians, including: Alpha Omega, ASC, Electrosoul System, Graphic and Paradox.
Releasing his tracks on labels such as (GER), (NL), (UK), (GER), (SWE), (USA), (GER), (GER), (GER), (USA) and others, Resound has left a significant mark on the global drum and bass and electronic scenes.
On 21 January, Resound will appear at the Circular Structure party at Red Club, held to coincide with the release of his new album on . The Finnish musician’s release on a Russian label is a significant event for our drum and bass scene.
