Alexa Harley grew up in South East London and began writing songs at 17. A singer-songwriter, Harley has worked as a vocalist and writer across dance, electronic, soul and R&B music, both on solo material and in collaborations. Her collaborators include Hybrid Minds, Tom Misch, Deadline, poolsideconvo, El Train, Houis and Hector Plimmer. In 2016, she worked with Hybrid Minds on the single Phoenix, released on Hybrid Music. The collaboration connected her songwriting and vocals with a dance-music project early in her recorded work.
Harley was also one half of Equal Echo, a jazz/soul-pop duo with Hector Plimmer. The pair released the Dynamite EP, and the lead single, Dynamite, was added to Spotify’s Jazz Pop editorial playlist. In July 2019, Harley released new music with Plimmer. In 2020, she joined Deadline for the single Never Be Alone, released on Pilot. In 2021, her work with Plimmer continued on Circle, a single released on Albert's Favourites.
Harley’s 2024 releases included Right There and drown you out, the latter a single with poolsideconvo on Headroom Records. That year, she also released About You with WEI, Jacuzzi Jefferson and Houis. Harley’s biography at the time described a focus on a first solo EP under the project name B. Hawksley. Her official biography also put the total Spotify streams generated by her collaborations above 50 million. In 2026, she released the single Eternity with Sam Cliffe.
