At about 10, Andromedik, the stage name of Antwerp producer and DJ Axel Demarbaix, began piano lessons. He says the instrument helped spark his interest in melodic music and music theory. His studies covered classical and jazz music as well as theory, and lasted around ten years. Netsky’s music first drew Demarbaix to drum and bass and inspired him to take up DJing. Andromedik emerged on Radar Records in 2016 with the single Andromedik EP. The Belgian artist makes drum and bass described as melodic and geared towards festivals.
His releases have appeared on Liquicity Records, NCS, High Tea Music, UKF and Helix Records. Among his tracks are “Stone”, “Bleed The Same” and “Take Me”; “Stone” features Sarah De Warren. He has also released the single “Nothing Like You” on Liquicity Records. In 2019, Andromedik was nominated for World’s Best Newcomer at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards.
Andromedik’s first collaboration with fellow Belgian producer Netsky was “Out of Body”. The pair have also released “Comedown”. With Lost Frequencies, Andromedik completed the Deluxe Mix of “The Feeling” together in the studio. The 2024 EP Rise followed a period spent making new music for the summer festival season. In 2025, Andromedik released the debut album Ascension, with contributions from Netsky, Kanine, Basstripper and A Little Sound.
In 2025, “Out Of Body (Blooom Remix)” came out on Helix Records with Blooom and Netsky. Andromedik’s 2026 releases include “Hold Me In Heaven”, a collaboration with Arcando and Raphaella on Tomorrowland Music; “Up”, with Teddy Bee; and “Feel For You”, with BARBZ, on UKF. His 2026 performances included Liquicity Festival at Geestmerambacht and a set at Le Kilowatt for Liquicity Paris. He also played at The Night Cat in Melbourne and Silverworks Island, and appeared at 1015 Folsom in September.
