Raised in Taunton, A Little Sound began posting acoustic covers on YouTube at 11, before moving to Bristol to study at BIMM Music Institute. The name belongs to Abigail Kate Morgan, a singer, songwriter, producer and DJ whose route into drum and bass took shape in the city’s underground scene. She connected with Born on Road, the Bristol collective whose members helped shape her musical taste. Morgan has said that the scene and the collective also influenced her sound. Her early steps online with covers preceded a move into drum-and-bass vocals and production.
In 2022, she released the A Little Sound EP, which includes “Memories,” “Breathe” and “The Other Side”; “Breathe” was her debut solo single. That year she won Best Vocalist at the Drum&BassArena Awards. Her collaborations include “Back in Time” with Kanine, “Weed & Wine” with Friction and “Lakota” with Technimatic. She has also worked with Hedex, Rudimental, Gray and Disrupta, as well as the Sugababes. In 2023, she signed an exclusive recording deal with Ministry of Sound. The following year brought “Situation,” a single with the Sugababes, and two honours at the Drum & Bass Awards: Best Vocalist and Best Female DJ.
After learning to DJ during lockdown, Morgan developed a live approach that lets her sing while mixing, having wanted to perform without relying on another DJ. She has named Koven’s Katie and Riya as early inspirations for combining vocals with DJ sets. In 2025, she released the single “Final Breath” with Subtronics. Her 2026 singles include “I Just Can't Get Enough” with Bish and Genetics on Born On Road, “Low Down” with Rova on UKF, and “Same Thing” with Kelvin 373 on Drum&BassArena. She also made a BBC Radio 1 Residency mix in 2026.
