Selecta J-Man is a Bristol-based drum-and-bass producer and DJ, sound engineer, and member of Born On Road, working alongside Aries, Kelvin 373, Gold Dubs and Stivs. Aries helped develop his sound and introduced him to the wider jungle scene. In 2017, he won the Glastonbury Soundclash with Born On Road.
His production combines reggae and drum and bass, and his studio work has included sessions with Protoje, Solo Banton, Deadly Hunta, YT, Charlie P, Eva Lazarus and Gardna; he has also engineered sessions for some of them. With Kelvin 373 and Aries, he made Bristol Style. His releases include Come With It and Foundation Style, and he released early material on Run Tingz Recordings. He has remixed music for Boom Sound and Chopstick Dubplate. His Born On Road releases also include El Gato (VIP). In 2015, he released Kill Dem Again on Run Tingz Recordings with Daddy Freddy. Selecta J-Man and Gray remixed Johnny Osbourne’s Rock It Tonight. Gentleman's Dub Club released High Hopes (Selecta J-Man Remix) as a single in 2023.
His label credits include Philly Blunt Records, Super Sharp Recordings, Jungle Cakes, Roots Records UK and Liondub International. On Philly Blunt Records, Bad Boy features Inja and L-Side, while We Ruff features Rider Shafique and L-Side. His releases also include the Cease and Sekkle EP on Born On Road. In 2025, he released Bad Boy Horns on Born On Road with Kelvin 373, and Flowers on Drum&BassArena with Brodie and Kelvin 373. His 2026 releases include Soundboy Calling (Selecta J-Man Remix) on Liondub International with Lost City and Riko Dan.
