Charli Brix is a South London-born, Bristol-based vocalist, DJ, songwriter and producer working across drum and bass, jungle and UK bass. She has described herself primarily as a soul singer and said she became a drum-and-bass fan at 14. After moving to Bristol, she spoke of its music scene as collaborative and welcoming to artists. Brix has said her first release came out when she was 20; by 2020, she had been making music for about a decade and was working on an album while shifting her focus towards songwriting during a pause in live performances. Her first drum-and-bass vocal release was Submatik’s “Tempted.”
Her collaborations include Break, Pola & Bryson, QZB, Koherent, Visages, Lenzman, DRS and DJ Marky. With QZB she made “Take It All”, with Koherent “Voices”, with Break “Lost” and with Visages “Full Circle”. Producer Enei contacted Brix after finding her on SoundCloud, leading to their collaboration “Just One Look” for his album Rituals. She also collaborated with Ill Truth and T.R.A.C on Dave Owen’s “Love Is All You Need”. Brix performs with KCDC, a female-fronted bass collective, and has released music on Deep Heads, Critical Music, Shogun Audio and Soulvent Records.
In 2019, Brix released the Kintsugi EP, followed in 2023 by the album The Art of Change on Flexout Audio. Its collaborators include DRS, Visages, Hyroglifics, Lenzman, Catching Cairo, Gardna and Selecta J-Man. Also in 2023, she released “Touch Me”, produced by Pola & Bryson, and was nominated for Best Vocalist at the DNBA Awards. Her 2025 releases included “Lost (Break Remix)” with Break on Symmetry Recordings, “Slow Down” with EXEA on Soulvent Records and “Entangled” with GLXY and Jords on Shogun Audio.
