Delroy Pottinger, known professionally as DRS, is a Manchester-based MC, vocalist and producer active in drum & bass and its adjacent styles. He is closely associated with soulful drum & bass and liquid-leaning vocal work, and appears on solo releases and featured tracks across a number of drum & bass projects and labels.
DRS began his profile in the city as a resident MC at Club Xtreme in Manchester. That residency and his early live work established him as a prominent voice in Manchester’s soulful drum & bass scene and led to studio and stage partnerships with established names in the genre.
As a vocal artist and MC DRS is notable for a sung, melodic delivery that sits over rolling breaks and warm basslines—the quality most frequently described as “soulful” in press and credits. His recorded voice appears both as lead vocal lines and as MC phrasing layered into producers’ tracks; those placements highlight lyrical hooks and sustained choruses rather than purely rapid-fire hype MCing. Publicly available credits show him moving between vocal features and full solo vocal tracks rather than only shout-style appearances.
Career highlights recorded in his public biography include work with LTJ Bukem and collaborations with Calibre, Jubei, Dub Phyzix and Pitch92. He has been part of the trio Broke N English and has collaborated with Dynamite on releases that were hosted by Hospital Records. Beyond those named collaborations, he has released solo material and been featured on releases across notable drum & bass projects and labels (specific catalogue entries are listed under his discography on label pages and music platforms).
Concrete influence and connection details in public sources are limited; what is documented are his direct collaborations and credits with the artists above—LTJ Bukem, Calibre, Jubei, Dub Phyzix, Pitch92 and Dynamite—which map his working relationships more than a declared list of formative influences.
Public biographical information on release dates and a full discography is limited beyond the collaborations and roles listed here; for specific releases and label credits consult DRS’s artist pages on label sites and digital music platforms where his solo tracks and featured appearances are catalogued.
