Dub Phizix

Dub Phizix (legal name George Ovens) is a Manchester-based British producer and DJ working within drum and bass and adjacent tempo styles. Within the drum and bass/jungle spectrum his output is best described as bass-heavy drum and bass and halftime; he also operates across related bass music territories. Public records show him active since at least 2011.

Documented activity places Dub Phizix in the UK bass scene from the early 2010s onward. He records and performs from Manchester and has built a practice that includes original singles, remixes and DJ sets. He frequently works with MCs and vocalists — collaborations with Strategy and DRS appear across his releases — and he has co-released material with producers such as Skeptical.

On record Dub Phizix is consistently described as bass-heavy and rhythm-forward. His catalogue and credited remixes identify a regular engagement with halftime textures alongside straight drum‑and‑bass tempi: low-end weight and slowed, swung pocket figures recur in listings and reviews. That focus on low-frequency design and rhythmic variation is visible on releases and remixes attributed to him on established labels.

Concrete career highlights include the single "Marka" — credited as Dub Phizix with Skeptical featuring Strategy — and released work and remixes on labels including Metalheadz and Senka. Those label credits place him in direct collaboration chains with other contemporary producers and engineers; his recorded output also shows repeated vocal collaborations with MCs (Strategy, DRS) rather than purely instrumental releases.

Specific public information about Dub Phizix’s formative influences is limited. What is verifiable: he operates as both producer and DJ from Manchester, he has released and remixed music on Metalheadz and Senka, he collaborated with Skeptical on the single "Marka" (featuring Strategy), and he regularly works with MCs such as Strategy and DRS. He continues to be cited for bass‑heavy drum and bass and halftime material.
