Circumference are Bristol-based producers Kit Jones and Finlay Freshney-Lee, who met at college in 2017. The drum and bass duo released their first official music in 2020, with the two-track single Inconsistent on Soulvent Records. Their influences include film soundtracks, minimalist classical music and indie music. Their releases have also appeared on Flexout Audio, Overview and Hospital Records. Jones is from East Ham, while Freshney-Lee is from Exeter. Their production also draws on techniques developed through their personal projects and collaborations. An early official release was their remix of Paper Dragon’s “New Religion.”
On Soulvent Records, the duo released the EP Breathe, which features “Breathe,” “Pyramid,” “SEE” and “Breathe (Out).” They also released the EP Ambivalence on Flexout.
In 2025, Circumference released the single Thunder (Circumference Remix) on Transparent Audio, followed by Ambivalence (KRÆK & NickBee Remix), a Flexout Audio single with NickBee. That year also brought Sticky Circles, a single with Unglued on Overview Music. In 2026, the duo released Snapshot_01, a single with VISLA on Critical Music, and Snakebite, a single with Hugh Hardie on Soulvent Records.
