Deep Blue left Moving Shadow in 1997 alongside other artists from the label and went on to establish Partisan Recordings that year. The move brought a new label into the producer’s work, following a period at Moving Shadow. Deep Blue was a founding member of 2 Bad Mice and created the jungle anthem “Helicopter Tune.”
Deep Blue also worked with DJ Pulse of Creative Wax on “The Revolutionary Generation” for Moving Shadow. In a 2012 interview, O’Keeffe said Deep Blue had largely moved on from drum and bass, while still playing old-school sets.
