In 1992, Brazilian DJ and producer DJ Andy began playing at São Paulo’s Overnight Club, where the sets moved between techno, rave, hardcore and jungle. The club became a long-running base for his work as a DJ. As his career developed, he released music through drum-and-bass labels including V Recordings, Full Cycle, Liquid V and Chronic Records, as well as RAM Records’ ProgRam imprint. DJ Andy also runs Bass Music Academy, a school teaching production in drum and bass and broken-beat music. His music also spans liquid funk, alongside drum and bass and jungle. He performed at every edition of the Skol Beats festival.
In 2022, DJ Andy brought Brazilian drum-and-bass producers together for the compilation album DJ Andy Presents The Brazilian Takeover, released through V Recordings and Chronic Records. His later singles include Off the Hook, released on Chronic with Dunk in 2022, and Say Something, released on V Recordings with Dunk in 2023. DJ Andy received Best International Artist recognition at the 2016 Drum and Bass Awards UK.
